I love this clip. It’s just a split second but shows more than we think. Watch Peeta. Then watch Caesar.
There’s such posturing going on between the two of them. If this were a western, they would be facing each other with their fingers twitching over the gun in their holsters at this point.
Caesar’s actions and stance come across with an air of almost gloating. And Peeta’s actions and stance scream defiance. Even in the precarious situation he knows he’s in, he’s doing what he can to rebel.
Which means that at this point, our Peeta is still there. He hasn’t yet disappeared behind the haze of tracker jacker venom.
